I can't decide if I should drive or fly up to Alaska.
It will take a while to drive and its a lot of miles to put on my car, but I have heard that there is lots to see on the drive up there, and once I am there I will have my car so I will have that freedom of being able to do what I want without having to ask for rides, and I can bring more stuff if I have my car
Flying on the other hand is fast, and my be cheaper than driving, but once I am there I wont have the freedom of being able to do whatever I want when I have time off.....
I just cant decide what I want to do. I know this shouldn't be that hard of a decision but it is, and everytime I almost have my mind made up I talk to someone else and then I begin it lean the other way again.....why can't this be an easy decision

The Big News
So the other day I said I had some big news and here it is
I accepted a new job!!!!!!!!
I am going to be working in Alaska this summer. Yes I am still going to be fighting fires, but I am no longer going to be on a hotshot crew. Yes I will definitely miss being on a crew but at the same time I think it is time for me to take the next step. I have never been to Alaska before but have always wanted to go so it will be a big change, I am excited and scared. I am going to be working as a fire suppression specialist. what is that you ask. well go here and it will give you a little more info about what I will be doing.
I am starting work on Apr 14. I have yet to figure out if I should drive or fly. I am going to be stationed at a remote location for part of the time, so I wouldnt even be able to use my car then. I haven't really had the chance to talk to the guy that I am going to be working for yet, I dont know a whole lot yet.
I will be sure to keep everyone updated and I will take lots of pictures. It is just like me job now in the aspect of I will be working 6 months and then having 6 months of, I am still considered a full time employee and I get benefits and everything like that. So come fire season I new chapter of my life is about to begin. stay tuned for the adventure

The gym
So i have been super busy lately and have been kind of slacking at working out. So today my plan was to go to the gym and do a long run. I really want to run outside but it keeps snowing here, so that hasn't happened. Anyway I am on the treadmill running and then this guy gets on the one beside me. This guy kind of scares me. Like really scares me, especially when I go to lift and he is hanging upside down on the squat bar. Ok so big deal. I can run with him next to me right?
Not right. this guy starts running and then starts making this really weird high pitched sound when he is breathing. It is like he whistles, or screeches or I don't know what when he is tired. I try to ingnore it, that doesn't work, I turn my music all the way up, nope I can still hear him. every like 30 seconds or even every 10 sec he makes this high pitched noise...I couldnt take it any longer I had to get out of there. I was about ready to punch him so he wouldn't make that obnoxious noise..... so much for my long run.... arghhhhhhhh I wish I had a video of this freak

I have some big news to tell everyone about. I just have to wait to talk to my dad before I post it. If you already know dont spill the beans, the rest of you will have to just guess what it is

Get this!!!!
So I am getting ready to go winter camping and I make a quick run to wally world. I can tell that I ma getting either casey's cold or carli's cold so I decide that I should buy some nyq@il so that I can sleep while I am camping, it is bad enough that it will be cold but to be all congested would not be fun. So I am checking out the lady rings up my nyquil and the thing beeps and she ask me how old I am. I start to say 28 but realize that I am 29. She looks at me and then asks for my ID. She looks at it and says sorry.
The dumb walmart clerk didn't thought I was lying. she didn't even think that I was 18. I know I look young and I don't care when I get carded for booze, but come on I would like to think that I look older than 18 or at least when I tell her that I am that she would believe me.
I know that one day Ill be all excited about looking young but someone thinking I am under 18 is a little much.
Oh yeah...here is something else. my ip@d m@ni barely holds a charge anymore so I decided to by a new ip@d classic. I buy one get it home hook it up to my computer which I bought in 2004 and is a mac, and the stupid ipod tells me that it isn't compitable with my computer..it tells me I need a newer version of OS (which is the mac operating system). Come on my computer is barely 4 years old, you would think that the new ip&ds would still work with it....it is just ridicoulous. I don't feel like buying a new computer when mine is only 4 years old.
grrrr

dont worry
I am not lost!!!
I know you all were worried
Anyway I am back now. I was gone all of last week. I spent the week visiting people in Michigan Ohio. It was a good week, it was a shorter trip than I normally take, my winter has just flown by and I thought that better make a trip over before it was gone
it was fun although it was short.... I learned how to play the guitar, well at least rockband guitar, I saw some pigs, itty bitty baby pigs to be exact, learned a little about all the great things mary k@y has to offer, and so much more
it was great to see everyone and I can't wait till I come visit again
I am leaving tommorow for a winter camping trip... I will be up int he BWCAW until late sunday. I am super excited. well I better get packing

Career Day
Well I am off to talk at a local community college's career day. I hope thes lovely high school students are ready to learn about careers, not just be there because they want to get out of school for the day. Oh wait we all know that most of them could care less about what the speakers have to say, they are just there to get out of school and get free pizza for lunch.
oh wait my main reason for saying that I would do it is also the free pizza.

ho hum
That pretty much describes how I have been feeling lately! I have been busy doing all sorts of things these days, I just haven't been blogging about them, partly because they aren't that exciting and most of you who read this probably don't really want to know how I have been keeping busy.
I have about two months till the crew starts working so I have been taking my working out to the next level. I was going to start blogging about it since I was thinking that if I blogged about it, it would make me keep training at the higher level, not just the level to stay in shape, but I have decided against that since I have noticed that others have started doing that and I dont want to be a copy cat. Although I do think that it is funny that many others had the same idea I did all around the same time.
I am hoping that it starts to get warmer around here. I want hte snow to be gone before I have to go back to work. As of right now I am starting work on Apr 21st....that date may change but if it doesn't that means that I will have to leave here around the second week in April. I am thinking of taking a different route than I normally do. I have always wanted to take the southern route but never had. Maybe I will finally do that this year. we will see.
I am still looking for other jobs, I had a couple of apps out there but didn't get those jobs. It is frustrating to be told you are in their top 3 choices, but that they went with the other guy. Oh well I have a few more apps out there so we will see, but chances are that I will be going back to the same place again this season, it isn't a bad thing I was just hoping for a change.
thats all I got
adios
